Home Contests February T3 ACR Tournament schedule and rule revisions

After poring over a ridiculously complicated Excel document all night, I’ve finally managed to schedule the Top Tier Tactics ACR tournament.

The roster is impressive, and I’ve managed to fill eleven brackets with a great selection of returning tournament players and fearsome new entries… including the oh-so-famous Escoblades and RaininStormwake. I’d say you’re all screwed, but as we saw last time, it’s very possible an unknown Templar will take the whole thing. Lucky for you, it doesn’t appear our last champion, RobyRK93, was interested in playing.

Rules change: Semifinals

Due to a number of suggestions on the T3 Forums, in article comments, and via e-mail, I have decided to ammend the tournament rules and add a Semifinal Round.

Instead of eliminating the lower half of the players who place first in their respective brackets, the top eleven players will be split into two (2) Semifinal Brackets.

Semifinal Bracket M will consist of six (6) players. Semifinal Bracket N will consist of five (5) players. Each bracket will play a round of Deathmatch and a round of Wanted.

Each player’s scores between both rounds will be totaled. The top four (4) players of Semifinal Bracket M and the top three (3) players of Semifinal Bracket N will advance to the Final Round.

These changes should make the finalist selection more fair than just cutting players who may have done very well but faced stiffer competition.

Good luck!

Well, that’s it! Best of luck to all our competitors this week. I look forward to the fierce fighting ahead, and hope everyone brings their A game to the tournament. Or B game. I mean, it depends which bracket you’re in, really.

  1. Good job organizing everything, WiNGSPAN. Good luck to everyone out there.

Especially to those in Bracket I…

  2. Hey wingspanTT, glad to see you included a semi final round. Everything looks fair as can be now. :) I don’t suppose you’d consider not allowing the gun for the steal the artifact portion of the finals? ;)

    • I won’t ban it but I’ll say if anyone uses it, it’s a pretty dumb idea since you’re basically feeding points to whoever is actually closest. I kind of want to see someone take Disguise and Morph into STA. But I don’t expect STA to make up a large percentage of the finals points, similar to Corruption.

  3. I don’t recognize anyone in my bracket…of course, that doesn’t mean a darn thing. I’m hoping I don’t humiliate myself *too* bad ^^’

      • Sony: Yes, you’re probably right
MS: you kiddin’ me? XBox 360 is from Microsoft, I don’t see, why crossplatforming should be a problem… except for that PC players can lock onto players more easily (at least theoretically) =)

      • I think for AC:R, the finesse and twitch accuracy isn’t so important as compared to an FPS. I think it’s probably one of the few games that can pull off a crossplatform without giving PC too much of an advantage.

      • There’s already some fighting game that allows cross-platform multiplayer between PC and Xbox.

So does Portal 2, which allows coop between PC and PS3. I’m not sure if Xbox also can link with PC.

  4. hey WiNG, I think you made a mistake because I can’t do brackets A-D.

If you can’t change me to another bracket, then it’s cool, just replace me and I’ll participate in the next tournament. Cheers :)

  5. damn. im with Dynillaristic and Hakimakitak?! im gonna fail. again. well at least i actually prestiged since the last tournament. underdog no more

  6. Im super excited for the tournament and I’m not one of those Xbox noobs and then end up eating their words I actually have skill but I have no hope of winning

  7. Can’t wait to watch your vids Wing, as a college student I’ve been deprived of ACR for the last month and these should help alleviate the pain.. or they may just make me more jealous, either way, BRING IT!

  8. Unfortunately im retarded and read the email wrong and thought for some reason that i was playing on wednesday not today. I guess put me in whatever other bracket is open since it was my mistake. If not it’s cool goodluck to everyone else. :)

    • That wouldn’t be fair to esco, i’m an assassinate player and he isn’t. He’s much better at the other modes which will be in the semi-finals and Finals.

    • Yeah, I nearly missed it though, I was doing some warm up rounds 1 hour before and went to get some breakfast. Thank god I made it.
