Just as with previous Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013 DLC, Top Tier Tactics is proud to be host to the world-exclusive deck lists for the latest release.

With DLC Deck Pack #3, we’re getting two long-awaited in-game additions: a blue/black Dimir deck called Rogue’s Gallery, and a 5-color rainbow deck known as Mana Mastery. Both piles have just the right amount of rage-inducing evil (a lot), and both have some powerful, fun cards that should get the wheels spinning in any evil genius’ head.

Duels 2013 Deck Pack 3 Top Cards

Dimir Rogue’s Gallery deck list

Focusing and card draw, discard, mill, and manipulation, Rogue’s Gallery will quickly get under the skin of opponents who had previously hoped to outwit you. The deck is full of card advantage generation, with tons of hard-to-block creatures that can sneak in damage and other nasty effects. Of course, like most dual-color decks, Rogue’s Gallery is susceptible to mana problems and early game slowdown, but if you can get out the gate fast enough, you have plenty of ways to make up for lost momentum.

Manipulate and infiltrate with the blue and black “Rogue’s Gallery” deck. Disrupt your enemies’ plans with spells, then summon stealthy mages and shadowy undead to deliver the killing blows.

Mana Mastery (5 color) deck list

Wholly new the Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers is a five-color “rainbow” deck. But don’t be misled by the light-n-merry moniker; Mana Mastery is all about evil, undercosted spells that wreak havoc on any board state. Sure, it won’t be easy to get the colors and quantity of mana you need to hatch your nefarious plans, but when you do… muaahahahaha! Mana Mastery will be difficult to construct and difficult to play, but true devotees of its approach will reap huge rewards.

Wield all five colors of magic with the “Mana Mastery” deck. A pentacolor array of spells will help you keep the battlefield clear while you set the stage for towering, indomitable creatures!

  1. Sure says something about a deck if it has to pack BOTH Terramorphic Expanse and the (strictly less cool) Evolving Wilds.

Definitely looking forward to the Dimir deck, though. As much as I honestly loathe response/lockdown decks whose sole purpose in the game seems to be to make sure that you are NOT playing Magic, I feel like I’ll enjoy doing free exchange of ideas with my opponent, except for the ‘free’ part.

(Yes, I stole a pun from Wizards. Sue me.)

    • I can see where you’re coming from, but against beatdown decks at least this deck has a lot of board-sweepers. Where I can easily see it suffering though is against something like Crosswinds, which will be pretty content to play Draw-Go against this deck and counter the biggest threats over and over.

  2. I’ve bought the expansion for ipad. And paid for the unlockables of mana mastery. I wanted to test the deck online in a two player game, but I can’t play online anymore. It just says “finding players”, but no one is found. Does anyone else have this problem?

    • No, everything’s fine after I got the DLC. Are you using quick start or the custom game option? Connectivity has never been the series strength so keep trying or test the game integrity on Steam in case a file got corrupted.

  3. hi, guys. i just bought the mana mastery expansion for iPad, and unlock it, but i found it had 29 unlocked cards, not 30. Does it same to you? thanks a lot for a reply.

    • I think the only reason for this can be that you had 61 cards in your deck. Then it says you have 29 unlocked, but take one card out of your deck and it says 30 again.

  4. the mana mastery on the iPad don’t have Sphinx of the Steel Wind in this list, does it same to others or only mine?

  5. Nope I have the Sphinx of Steel Wind in my deck on the iPad. I did have the issue yesterday with game centre taking a million years to put me into a game with anyone.

So far I am loving how fun the Rainbow deck is… I just hate how it is so freaking weak against that dam Mill deck.

  6. Agreed. The Mana Mastery deck is pretty much in survival mode turns 1-4. That’s more than enough time for turbo mill to get rolling. Also I find that GG and PK may have you in the single digits in life once you get at least enough mana to start casting some of the sweepers. But then if we gotten rid of these holes, we would all start playing the same decks now would we? In this format, although we wouldn’t want to believe it but, its a more sophisticated form of rock, paper, scissors: meaning that you have control over only so many variables. There are going to be some bad matchups no matter how you design your deck. The real skill comes in when you are able to sideboard from your main deck and see if your choices will maximize your winning chances.

  7. Hey Wing,

Speaking of which…. Are there any plans on a mana mastery deck guide? There seems to be plenty of variation with this deck. My design is literally changing constantly. Experimenting with 10 creatures to NO creatures and still have success.

  8. Wing,

yes eagerly waiting for your guide. I know you have provided the card analysis which is a great start. I am currently also trying to put together a paper version – with currently about 9 missing card off the list. Some are too expensive to source but at least I already have Progenitus.
