Marvel vs Capcom 3: It’s really coming, but will it be really balanced?

Before we start, a fun teaser trailer for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet:

We’ve got all the fan favorites; there’s Ryu, Iron Man, Wolverine, Morrigan… Chris Redfield?!?

AWESOME!

Yet I can’t help but wonder if MvC3 will provide a little less “let’s throw everything we can into this” and a little more “maybe we should make more than 5 or 6 characters tournament viable.”  That’s right; I want to rock Professor X at EVO. Is that so much to ask?

That said, I think many (including me) who haven’t played MvC in years are in for a rude awakening. These games are fast, unforgiving, and frantic! I don’t know if I have the execution to do well, but damned if I won’t try to land those 300 hit combos.
