Home Editorial Balance MTG Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 first DLC list leaked

duels-of-the-planeswalkers-2012

While not everyone plays Magic the Gathering (some people do have an interest in dating, after all), and not everyone who has played Magic is a big fan of its digital components, I’ve continued to find the game fascinating for nearly 15 years, even if I didn’t play the game during the entire period.

With so many permutations, possibilities, and delightfully sadistic opportunities to demolish opponents with a creative construction, what’s not to love?

Other than the cost, of course.

And while I won’t disclose the amount of money my teenage self spent on those addictive cardboard crack-packs, I’m happy Wizards of the Coast have made a version of Magic accessible without constant price-gouging with their Duels of the Planeswalkers series. For the price of a single tournament entry, you can have dozens (if not hundreds) of hours of geeky fun, with low-price expansions that don’t feel like they’re “buy this or you’ll lose” inherently.

To that effect, I’m excited not only to learn that the first DLC is coming for MTG:DOTP:2012, but that it once again features my perennial favorite combination, Blue/Red.

Hit the break for the full DLC spoiler list; use Gatherer to look up cards. Note that some cards do not currently exist in MTG and are described in parentheses below. Credit to luminum can on MTGSalvation for hacked list. Note that all cards subject to change. All typos are [sic] luminum can.

  1. Beat the game last night, and really thinking the artifact deck is a tiny bit over powered. Even against the red deck with it’s destroy artifact creatures. Now on to archenemy and revenge campaigns. Have yet to do any multiplayer games. Will buy this DLC as soon as it’s available prob, sounds great.

  2. I’m still waiting out for them to do either a deck based on the pheraxia block or a sliver deck based on the time spiral block/some older blocks. Until then the red/blue one looks like it’ll do. Once it comes in though I really can’t see people using chandra’s deck because it does almost the same thing (damage early on,) but it simply does it better because you can whip out some many strong creatures early on for so little mana, even though they only last a turn.

  3. Are you guys kidding me? Do you see the first sentence of this story? Who ever wrote this story can SMD you stupid fuck.

  4. like really? you basically said people who play magic dont like girls? “(some people do have an interest in dating, after all)”

  5. Useful info. Fortunate me I found your website unintentionally, and I am stunned why this accident didn’t happened in advance! I bookmarked it.
