Home Events In the NJ area? Try to find WiNG at the Unwinnable Geek...

While the town of Kearny typically has as much going for it as the profession by the same name (think homophones), the town’s about to get a swift kick in the rear this afternoon thanks to the 2nd ever Unwinnable Geek Flea Market.

What is this strangely named event? It’s essentially just like any flea market, but instead of having to rummage through piles of toasters and used toothbrushes to find things like video games and Magic cards, those are the only things being sold.

I’ll give you a second to catch your breath.

All right, time’s up. Now look, I can’t promise this is going to be awesome, because I didn’t go to the first one. But if it’s anything like the rest of Unwinnable’s efforts, it will be endearing in an earnest, nerdy way. You might remember can follow this link to my interview with Unwinnable’s Charles Moran about last year’s Golden Wrench thing. Charles is a straight shooter with a good eye for written flair and a better eye for what makes geeky stuff awesome. Yesterday, he clued me into this event… which is why I wasn’t able to plug it sooner than right fucking now.

Anyway, if you’re in the area and looking to score some deals on games, toys, or memorabilia, you can head on over to the 1st Presbyterian Church of Arlington at 663 Kearny Ave. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. I should be there around 1:00 pm, assuming I can muster the motivation to take a shower and eat a semblance of a breakfast. Yes, I’m aware it’s almost 11:00. Sue me.

How will you know it’s me? If you have to ask, I’m ashamed of you! Also, I’ll be wearing my incredibly sweet Team Fortress 2 Spy shirt.

What are you waiting for? Overcome your primal instincts and head to Kearny, NJ right now!

  1. I need to buy some Airplane tickets. So I can meet Wing, and punch him in the face.
For not giving me free t-shirts yet.
