Home Editorial Balance Full Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2012 Changes

While Joystiq some gaming news sites have been content to embed Capcom‘s latest teaser trailer as a “changelist” for Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition 2012 (say that three times fast), the alterations indicated therein are but the tip of the punch-packed iceberg.

While you’re free to watch the masturbatory PR video below, you can get the full update list below. For your convenience, I’ve listed buffs in green and nerfs in red. Neutral/mixed changes are black. Now scroll down and pick the character with the most green changes and main him/her!

It looks like weaker characters are getting helped, strong characters are getting hurt, and everyone is going to get KO’ed just a little bit faster, thanks to overall damage gains.

Of particular note, many of the changes made between Super Street Fighter 4 and Super SF4 AE have been reverted. Whether you consider it a bad thing to see Capcom flip-flop on its decisions or a good thing for “listening to its fans” and reversing some of its more incomprehensible modifications, I’m happy they’re willing to bite the bullet and nix bad “fixes.”

  1. Supposedly Seth said that there are unpublished buffs/nerfs so despite being called a complete changelog it really isn’t.

  2. Ryu’s HP shoryuken isn’t a nerf…
it does more damage as an anti air and you can use MP shoryu for FADC cancels
his solar plexus > cr. hp > shoryuken does a lot more damage now

  3. *reads all the buffs* So everyone is getting stronger? What’s the point of that?
    *reads Cody buffs* YES!
*Keeps reading, notices the lack of nerfs* Where are all the nerfs?
*Reads Yun and Yang, then starts laughing hysterically*
