In this forum, we will be discussing basic stratagies to use in AC:R Multiplayer
March 28, 2012 at 8:59 pm #12766To stun, the element or surprise is essential, though there are some stratagies that do not exactly require surprise here are a list of some ways to STUN effectively
1. Corner Stun- Hide around a corner and wait for your pursuer to come and surprise stun him
2. Drop Stun- Go to lower ground than your pursuers, wait until he jumps down, and the second he hits the ground, stun him
3. Unaware Surprise Stun- Go behind an unaware pursuer and stun him
Using abilities can help you stun, Smoke Bomb, Mute, Knives, Tripwire Bomb, Charge, are good abilities to most likely ensure you a stun.
The Firecrackers ability may help you stun, but not guaranteed, they do not disable your pursuer, just surprise them and blind them. Thanks for reading more coming on killingApril 6, 2012 at 12:16 pm #12946Lately I’ve been playing a bunch of Manhunt, and I feel like I’ve really raised my game when it comes to being on the defensive. Lately I was able to grab almost 11k, so I’m just going to talk a little about how my game changed.
I’ll admit it – when it comes to being the hunter in Manhunt, I’m not the greatest. In several of my many, many Manhunt sessions the other day, I actually came in last on my team while hunting. Fortunately, I always have the Survive round (or the Stun Round, as I like to refer to it) to make up for it.
Basically, I need to have a decent team with me. Going at it by myself is only going to net me so many stuns. Luckily I did have one friend on my team, and the others usually seemed kind of eager to chat and form a plan.
We liked to start the round off by hiding in the same area – close enough to watch each others backs, but not necessarily in the same blend group (to avoid us all being smokebombed at once). Packing Mute/SB is good for this, but lately I’ve been using SB/Disguise to equally great effect. I can remember many specific instances where I’ll SB and nab 2-3 stuns before running off around the corner. Disguise, and wait for them to run toward me. Then get off a corner stun, and maybe an extra stun or contested kill. Then respawn, find your group and hope someone else hasn’t used both their abilities. Rinse and repeat.
We sometimes got into what I like to call Stun Parties (basically using SB and Mute to repeatedly stun the same person). Granted, this isn’t the most sportsmanlike tactic, but it’s an effective one. And nothing is stopping them from hitting Y/triangle to respawn elsewhere, or do the same to us when it’s their turn. Regardless, it can net you a ton of stuns (I’d regularly earn 4-5 in a row), which builds up streaks and multi-stuns. Throw in some fancy escapes and you’re gold.
I remember several instances of losing by 3-5k after the Hunting round, only to make a massive comback and win by 6k in the Survive round. I used to not pay a lot of attention to stunning – I thought that simply blending in with my mates and not dying would be enough. But if you’re not that great at hunting, like me, it’s hugely important to get as many stuns in as you can. I know one game I got 16 stuns, but that wasn’t my 10k match. I’m not entirely sure what I got there.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing anyone else post their Manhunt strategies!
