Here, I shall list tips from the PSP Roguelike “Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman”. The first tip is buying this damn game.

Tip #2: YOU. WILL. DIE. A lot. Dying causes you to lose all invetory items and any money you’re carrying. You will also develop a fear of whatever defeated you. BUT, dying also has its benefits. This will be explained in a later tip.

Tip #3: You level up by earning EXP (no durr), however you will always revert to Lvl 1 upon the end of a dungeon run (you finish, escape, or die). Your levels are then put into a Total Lvl, which can permanently increase your base stats. The max Lvl you can earn in a dungeon is 9999, while your Total Lvl can reach a max of 999999.
