Charity Update Log

Those of you who spent the weekend Ghost-riding the whip trying to earn an Alien Parasite Hat—or whatever it is people do when they go outside on the weekend—probably feel pretty good about yourselves right now. At the end of the day, though, what do you have to show for it? Vague memories of getting crunk. The first 1,000 people who wisely choose to donate at least $10 to the Golden Charity, on the other hand, will be absolute heroes to hospitalized children. For a weekend? No. For a lifetime.
But that’s not all!
Luckily for everyone who hasn’t given yet, there’s still time to contribute to Child’s Play Charity. With additional donations of $10 or more, another owner of a Golden Wrench will sacrifice his/her prized possession. That’s right, the more donations received for Child’s Play, the more gold goes into the smelting pot —with all of this culminating in the long-awaited Golden Charity Destruction Marathon!* Unlike with the Golden Wrench Log, this system is absolutely not random.**

I commend you for your effort to raise money for these children. I would like to donate but I am unable to right now. However, there is a rather unfortunate side effect of this….
As I’m sure you remember, when ever someone found a Wrench, the message popped up and the announcer said “Success!” Whenever a Wrench is destroyed, a similar message pops up and the announcer says “Failure!” If nothing changes from now to August 31, the same thing will happen. In other words, when these Wrenches get destroyed for charity, the announcer will say “Failure!” I would hardly call this action failure. Its just something I’d like to say.
I’d like to think that all of these aspects is what will make this great. Mainly, TF2 is built and runs on fail. Not just any kind of fail though, but only the MOST EPIC OF EPIC FAILS, which (much like a supernova of a star) is either due to the result of an EPIC WIN or leads to said win. Facestabs, spy-cap, mofuking body-shots, back-burning-pyros, heavies with KGB, battle-medics, Demo-knights, humiliation at the end of every round…
It’s going to be a glorious failure when these wrenches are destoried, because it will be the cause of an epic win by the community of TF2. :3
Yes, in fact, I suppose the announcer will say FAILURE! mutiple times in succession for EVERYONE in the world who has TF2 open to hear. It will be glorious and hilarious. Please someone capture footage from the party server and post it on youtube.

Hell… now that trading is coming out, i simply fell like this is kinda… i dont know, all i do know, is that they dont need to be destroyed. they really dont. Like: when trading is out, you could give the golden wrenches, to one of your friend. in one month, he need to give it to someone else, in that way, everyone should have a chance to get it.
I don’t really trust in Valve Time, but aside from that, at this point I have promised too many people that I would delete it. Many people have specifically asked me to delete it, so I feel honorbound to do so. The next time I get an ultra-rare item, though, I’ll try something like this.
