Spy Lessons
If you enjoy espionage… if you enjoy smoking… if you enjoy being fundamentally tasked with trolling your opponents…
Then you, sir, are at heart a Spy.
So many Spy tutorials on YouTube are just kill montages. That’s great for some eyebrow raising, but in my opinion, killing the opponent isn’t the hard part as Spy. After all, you take everyone out in one hit! Instead, it’s the stalking, the waiting, and the timing that are difficult to master. And nobody can learn that without watching someone succeed… and fail… at those tasks.
I won’t claim to be the best Spy in Team Fortress 2. Or even a great one. But I thought if I cobbled together game play footage, some fun music, and insights into both my successes and failures, people might be able to watch, learn, and laugh.

Thanks! I do want to do more but I have hit a lot of roadblocks along the way, including but not limited to: Computer crash, software bugs, patches making all demos (mine and submitted ones) obsolete… plus I accidentally crafted my Dead Ringer! I was also considering doing videos for Pyro or Sniper, but I still haven’t decided. I know it’s been a long time but I don’t want to put out a bad video pre-emptively.
Loking forward to more if you get around to it. You have a great sense of timing and humor that goes along with your tutorials. They are useful, and entertainimg.

could you make one ( i am not sure if you did yet) on ctf_2fort for dead ringer?
Maybe, but personally I think the DR is a really bad watch for 2Fort. There is not a lot of metal to pick up, and due to the very small areas involved, you will be heard nearly 100% of the time. I’d recommend using the Cloak and Dagger in 2Fort, but I also believe that making another C&D video would be extremely boring (for the audience).
You are right about the C&D but it does have it fun moments but those are (Long) between each other. i like to use the DR do you know of any PL/CP maps that are DR friendly for someone who is new to the DR? ( i use the normal cloak ) i had to switch steam accounts ( for various reasons ) and i am now ( after watching your videos ) thinking that the DR is quite good. Please respond when you get a chance and maybe name one or two DR friendly maps.

In my opinion the DR is very good on offense on all Payload maps for several reasons:
1. The bomb cart can always refill your meter.
2. You can capture the cart with your DR out, so that if someone tries to kill you, you will live
3. Most of these maps are huge so there are a lot of places to hide while decloaking
4. The DR allows you to get through the spam that is common on these maps.

Your Spy lessons have been an excellent resource for me, and I have watched each and every one of them to learn all I can about my favorite class. It’s definitely improved my playing, by adding some of your strategies to my own (as well as learning to avoid your mistakes). Thank you!
