For weeks and weeks, I grinded out games of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag multiplayer. I took notes. I did research. I watched other players’ videos. I watched and re-watched my own videos.

Then, I began to write.

A few months later, I had completed nearly an entire book’s worth of Assassin’s Creed online knowledge. Basic and advanced strategies, counters and meta-counters, and simple rules of thumb that any player could benefit from. The only problem I had was figuring out what I’d do with the book!

While I struggled to figure out the file format and pricing for this unparalleled writing labor, I was torn. On one hand, I had poured dozens (if not hundreds) of hours into creating this work. On the other hand, I feel like I’d be doing the Assassin’s Creed community a disservice if I reserved my notes only for those willing to pay, even if  it was only a nominal fee.

After wrestling with this issue (and a few thousand online opponents) for some time, I decided I wanted to open the conversation to the community, to share my successes and failures, and to add something meaningful to the otherwise languishing cesspool of internet strategy guides.

So, after long hours and heavy consideration, I’ll be rolling out my full AC4: Black Flag e-book for free here on Top Tier Tactics. The digital tome will be released chapter-by-chapter on site, with a new chapter every day! You’ll find the index of current chapters right here.

  11. You don’t know me… but i just wanted to say that i love your guide and that you’ve really taken an interest on expanding the community! It’s hard getting my friends to play with me because most of them have a hard time playing the game, and I think this could really help them. However, I do have one complaint/suggestion, however you want to take it. I didn’t look at the whole guide, however from what i looked at, there isn’t a guide to picking out people in blend groups, and by blend groups i mean morph or the blender perk. It’d be really helpful and a great addition to your already amazing guide. Thanks!

    • Huntsman, thanks. I think you’re right, I didn’t really cover too much about either hiding in groups or picking out people hiding in groups. I’ll try to write something up and figure out where to put it, or possibly add a separate section on Hide and Seek. Cheers!
